Elephants Get Pensions! True

A story in last weeks Money Marketing, a leading financial industry newspaper, has confirmed that State employed elephants in India are to retire and receive a ˜state pension" from the Government at age 65.

The pension will be based upon 'inflation' proofed food allowance, health care and accommodation.

Our view

Whilst this is a tongue in cheek story, it is great that India is looking after animals after they become too old to work.
