Education System Fails Finance Test

According to the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the financial services industry has slammed Britain’s education system.  More than half of all the employers surveyed accused the education system of failing to meet the needs of the industry.  The survey also revealed that three-quarters of employers reported shortages of technical skills.

Our view

We have campaigned for financial education in schools for nearly 8 years now.  The fact that a child can leave school with no idea what a mortgage is or how to write a cheque but can do Pythagoras is criminal.

There is no preparation for life after school.
