DWP Delays Criticism

The National Audit Office has criticised the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for delays in implementing changes to the State Earnings Related Pension Scheme.  Changes were supposed to take place in 2000 but did not happen until October 2002.  This has meant many losing out or having payments of second tier pensions from the state delayed and compensation has been set aside to the tune of £8m.
