More Government funding has been given for disabled people adapting their own homes. Keith Hill, Housing Minister from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has said 'A working party, including officials from the ODPM, Department of Health and Department for Education and skills will report back in May with recommendations to improve the fairness and efficient delivery of the programme.'
Our view:
This is great news. We too are working on full disabled access for our websites - whilst it is the law to make some effort - we are going the whole mile - very soon will look completely different as our 5,000 pages become fully accessible for the blind and partially sighted.
