Consumer Spending Fall

Published / Last Updated on 17/10/2004

The report highlighted that on the year 38% of traders reported trade down whilst only 29% reported an increase.

Our view

Perhaps at last interest rate rises are starting to work.  Although given the continued, albeit slower rise in houses prices, we beleive another rate rise will happen in November or December.   Wait and see.
