Consumer Confidence On The Up

Published / Last Updated on 08/02/2004

The latest consumer confidence index figures from JP Morgan Fleming have just been released, highlighting a rise during January.  Apparently 44% of consumers questioned in January believe the index will be higher in six months time, as opposed to 17% who believe it will be lower.

Our View:

With the recent stock market rises and lots less doom and gloom news, no wonder the index is on the increase.  More and more people seem to be confident in the stock market performance, especially with ISA season just around the corner.  One word of caution though - don't get carried away and start ploughing money into stock market related investments without understanding the risks involved.
