If you want to know how much you are really worth, a new website has just been launched by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and Income Data Services (IDS). You can access this at Paywizard.co.uk.
This website allows people to check the level of their pay against the average salary for their jobs. TUC General Secretary, Brendan Barber said that 'Pay has been surrounded in secrecy for too many people, making the perfect environment for inequality and discrimination to flourish undetected'
Our view
A bit of a giggle! We have taken a look and the rate table is too simplistic not allowing for skills, experience and qualifications for general staff. We suppose this is easy to define for higher level professionals but not for general staff.
