Company's Can Promote Their Own Pension Schemes

New rules could allow employers to encourage their staff to join their pension schemes.  At present, only the benefits of joining a company-based stakeholder or group personal pensions can be pointed out.

If the Financial Services and Markets Act was changed, employers could inform their staff about all aspects of the schemes. 

Our view 

This is good news for the 4.6 million employees who had access to a company pension plan, but have not joined.
