Commercial Property Turnaround

Commercial Property Turnaround

Commercial property is on the turnaround.  The commercial property sector has been impacted by market downturns in the second half of 2007 and into this year.

With the performance of most major commercial property funds showing significant losses and many commercial property funds moving to protect existing shareholders as an increasing number of investors are moving away from commercial property, it may seem surprising that a number of leading fund managers are looking to get back onto this sector.

Our view

Buy low, sell high.  Commercial property is at a good time to buy in.  Those thinking of leaving commercial property are doing so at the wrong time.  As we move through spring, we suggest there will be a more stable investment market with interest rate cuts and bank stabilising on funding.  This will be good news for commercial property investors.
