Assettrust Group has pledged to invest a further £1bn in new cheaper, affordable housing by 2008.
Assetrust is setting up a new limited company that will act effectively as Residential Social Landlord but it is private and will initially concentrate on delivering low cost housing in the highest cost/high demand areas.

Exciting news for people who cannot afford housing in certain difficult areas.
It however, will only paper over the cracks rather the Government intervention that is needed control the housing market.
