Once again the government has placed itself in the line of fire for making changes to plans relating to the home information packs, which include making property sellers pay £500 for them.
According to the new proposals, properties that were on the market before 1 June will not require home information packs. The home information pack would still be valid for homes that have been withdrawn from sale, but are re-marketed within one year. Estate Agents have not been missed out in the new proposals and the fine for them for not supplying a home information pack will increase from £200 to £500. However, the Association of Mortgage Lenders believes that these proposals should have been actioned a long time ago.
Our view
There is a lot of angry talk on this subject but until they are really tried and tested and proved to either be beneficial or not, we will have to wait and see.
