Today sees the news that the National Lottery is increasing its minimum cost for an entry from £1 to £2.

The amount invested in Lotto has fallen over the years, since launch in 1994, from £90m each week down to just over £40m.

The move has been made in a bid to boost the size of the prize fund and of course the amount raised for causes.
