Card Insurance Compensation 8 Weeks Left.

The Financial Conduct Authority has yesterday issued a warning to all consumers who were sold card security protection insurance either via their credit card issuer or via Affinion International Limited to submit their compensation claim by the deadline of 18 March 2016.

What has caused this card security insurance compensation review?

Many people purchased this insurance even though under most card protection schemes, the card issuer is responsible for any fraudulent transactions after the date of the card being lost or stolen. In short there was perhaps no need for the security insurance.

If you had any of the following products underwritten by Affinion International Limited you may be eligible to claim compensation:

  • Card Protection
  • Sentinel
  • Sentinel Gold
  • Sentinel Protection
  • Sentinel Excel
  • Safe and Secure Plus

All people who took out this type of security protection have been written to and sent a compensation pack in the post. However, you may have moved you may have lost your compensation pack or indeed you may not be sure whether you had this card protection or not. If so, there is a free helpline to contact the AI scheme and you should do it now 0800 678 1930.

To date, 173,000 people who voted for the AI compensation scheme have not returned a completed compensation claim form in the first four months of this compensation scheme being open and you will also be receiving a reminder letter to prompt you to submit your claim. It may only be a £25 refund in many cases but it is your money and not theirs so please get your claim submitted.
