According to research by B&W Deloitte, 13 million people in the UK are way off providing for a comfortable retirement. Apparently, 6 million of the 13 could afford to save towards retirement but are complacent and do nothing. The other 7 million are lower earners and will need to depend on the State in retirement.
Further research indicated that although low charges are important in terms of value for money, people identified a simple product from a known brand with a guarantee was more important.
