Virgin Money have estimated that up to 2.4m workers in the UK could be missing out on valuable pension benefits because they have not joined their company scheme. They say that many companies happily pay into pension schemes for their employees if they join, but many do not. They have called for a change in the law so that people automatically join the scheme and that they have to sign a waiver if they do not wish to.
