Buy_to_let Market Faces Increase In Arrears

Published / Last Updated on 26/02/2007

The Council of Mortgage Lenders has revealed that figures, not yet finalised are indicating that the buy-to-let market arrears are increasing and may suffer a rise in repossessions.

These increases come as a result in the rise of the interest rate and although the buy-to-let arrears are typically lower than your average mortgage, there are indications that this gap is getting smaller.

Our view

We believe that the market may be a victim of its own success as more people invest, so do the number of people that get into difficulty. The buy-to-let market remains a good investment for those who understand the risks and tax implications. Take advice from us before you buy.
