A report by Halifax has found that there is a premium on average of £97,971 for detached, two storey homes in the UK. This is a 53% premium on the price of the average house. The most expensive areas are the South East and Greater London.

A detached home in the south having the greatest premium? A complete surprise.
There are many areas now where green belt land is restricting building and as such if you own or plan to own properties with two stories and room for further expansion you could be "quids in"!
