Brown - Scottish National Party Shot - Scottish Banks

Gordon Brown has attacked the idea of an independent Scotland claiming that had the Scottish National views prevailed and the union dissolved, Scotland could not have assisted the Royal Bank of Scotland in its hour of need.

Brown claimed on the BBC that the action “would not have been possible with a Scottish administration”.

We suggest when you add HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) for a total £32bn of the two leading huge Scottish banking groups, the position becomes even more unmanageable and would have left Scotland in a similar position to Iceland – i.e.  on the point of Bankruptcy.
