British Homeowners Worth £2 Trillion
British homeowners are worth £2 trillion according to a report by GE Money Home Lending.
UK homeowners have almost £2 trillion locked up in their bricks and mortar. A total of 26 per cent of all UK homes are owned outright by their owners, while the average equity for each property is £127,455.
London and the south-east account for a third of Britain’s total residential property equity, however, 50 per cent more Welsh homeowners actually own their own homes outright than Londoners.
Our view
We live on an island and as the population increases it is the market economics of supply and demand that will force property prices even higher
