Bank Of England Holds Base Rates At 4.5%

The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee met today and has again decided to hold interest rates at 4.5% pa for yet another month.  This amid fears that interest rates may rise.

Our view

The housing market is starting to 'bubble under the surface', if it continues to become more bouyant and the economy continues to strengthen with consumer confidence back to 'spend spend spend', expect a rate hike after the summer.
