Autumn Statement 2011 - Stamp Duty Holiday Scrapped.
The Stamp Duty holiday for First Time Buyers up to £250,000 available until midnight on 24 March 2012 is not to be extended.
The Chancellor, George Osborne, suggested the scheme had failed to spark the property market and will not be extending it.
This may lead to a rush of First Time Buyers entering the market before the deadline.
The Government suggest there is a greater need for them to prioritise the housing shortage in the UK with building projects and social housing schemes.
