Auto Enrolment Penalties Issued
Three penalty notices have been issued by the Pensions Regulator (TPR) to employers who have failed to follow the pension auto-enrolment regulations. The firms failed to take action after being served with either contribution notices or compliance notices.
After failing to take action TPR issued three firms with £400 fixed fines. The fines followed the latest quarterly update on its investigation into auto-enrolment. The update also shows that there has been a massive increase in the number of compliance notices issued over the past six months.
Between the start of the pension auto-enrolment in October 2012 and July this year, only 14 notices were issued to employers, but between July and September this year alone TPR issued 163 notices to employers.
