Austerity Joke EU Increases Its Budget.
Proposals are due to be outlined today, by officials from the European Commission, for a 6.8% rise in the EUs budget for 2013.
Some EU goverments have consistently urged the Commission to scale down its spending plans, but Commission officials are expected to argue the budget increase is needed to meet prior EU commitments.
The British government is thought to be among those who would oppose any increase.
