Age Discrimination Guidance Still Not Available

The new legislation regarding age discrimination in the pension market came into force on the 1 December, however the guidance on how age discrimination applies to pensions is not available.

Top human resource experts have warned that some companies are still not prepared to the changes in legislation and the draft guidelines offer little value. Some employers may already be looking at their pension rules and ways in which to avoid age discrimination.

Our view

The Government has said that final guidance on the legislation is to be published 'soon'. This Government is brilliant at changing law and offering no help on how to comply with the law. Next please.
