6th November Budget Date Announced

Published / Last Updated on 13/10/2019

The first Budget after leaving the EU will take place on 6th November, 2019 and will also be Sajid Javid’s first Budget as the Chancellor.

Mr Javid has already commented on his plans to review borrowing and has suggested borrowing more to take advantage of current low borrowing costs.

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) usually has 10 weeks to prepare, but they have allegedly managed to prepare reposrt should the UK secure a Brexit deal.

Should there be a No Deal Brexit the budget would be delayed and the Treasury will look at businesses, the economy and households and the possibly cutting VAT.

Comment

We suggest the dat has been as a precaution to act quickly in a post Brexit UK, deal or no deal.  Perhaps there are two budget?  1 for 'deal' and 1 for 'no deal'.
