55% Say _ Financial Advertisements Misleading

Published / Last Updated on 23/11/2005

A new Moneyfacts survey has found that consumers are still being misled by financial advertisements.

According to the poll, 55% of consumers felt that they had been misled by an advertisement offering a 'headline grabbing' interest rate, and 16% said that they had made an official complaint about a financial services company.

Mis-buying is much easier than mis-selling.  In simple terms, advertisements are set to entice you to buy and if really you do not understand what you are doing this could spell trouble.

Most people think they know about finance and at some point do things themselves - this is dangerous.
