4 Million Complaints in 6 Months

Figures have been published today by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the first half of 2018 showing there were 4 Million complaints made to 3,161 firms. That’s an increase of 10% in 6 months.

The most complained about topics were

  • 42% PPI
  • 15% current accounts
  • 8% credit cards
  • 6% motor and transport insurance.

Complaints increased by 9% (excluding PPI) from the previous 6 months, retail banking services have had several high profile cases of disruption which contributed to an increase in complaints to certain firms.

In the first half of 2018 58% of all complaints were resolved within 3 business days compared to 59% in the last 6 months.
