40% Spending Less

According to research by GE Money, more than 40 per cent of parents across Britain’s main cities have been spending less in the past six to 12 months.  The research also showed young families, with children under the age of four appeared to be most affected with almost half of those interviewed saying that they are spending less than they did 12 months ago.  GE Money has produced a consumer advice guide, ‘Starting a Family’, to arm parents and prospective parents with the information they need to plan all their finances.

External communications manager for GE Money, Robert Buller said, “As the general cost of living increases, it is important that parents and especially those couples looking to start a family have access to independent free advice on money to help look after the family finances”.
