The Mortgage Code Compliance Board (MCCB) have published results of a survey in which they questioned 1,000 adults in October last year about awareness of their rights when dealing with mortgages.
The Mortgage Code was introduced in 1997 as a voluntary code entered into by Mortgage Lenders and Intermediaries to provide consumer protection and rights.
The results of the survey showed that 59% of you were aware of the Code although although only 28% actually know what the code is about.
If you do not know your rights when dealing with mortgages or what obligations Intermediaries and Lenders have please contact us for a copy of the leaflet You and Your Mortgage.
