Research by Co-operative Insurance has found that only 3% of those aged 18-25 believe that state pensions will provide.
Most had little or no idea of what a pension actually was and many believed that the Government provided pensions and that they had no reason to worry at this stage as retirement was some time away.

These figures are staggering.
This is a government problem of lack of education. We appreciate that there has been significant poor publicity for pensions over the last few years.
However, there is obviously a knowledge gap between what people believe they will receive and what they actually will.
