1 in 5 Brits Have No Savings.

According to new research from Santander Savings, 22% of adults in the UK have no savings.  Over the past 12 months, the average monthly deposit amount has also fallen 7%.  In 2011, Britons were depositing an average of £112 per month, this has now dropped to £105.

Men are depositing 54% more than women.  Female monthly deposits have reduced by 8% over the past year, compared to a 5% drop in the average deposit made by male savers.
