HMRC Catches Even Move Tax Dodge Landlords

In September 2013, HMRC tax officials launched a Let Property campaign to catch landlords that do not pay correct income taxes.

Figures from 2019 show that HMRC is moving in on the tax dodging landlords after a rise in tax collected.  In 2018 HMRC caught 8,704 for non-payment a 28% increase on the previous year.

In 2019 HMRC collected £44.7 million in tax in 2019 which is a rise of 36% from 2018 where £32.8 million was collected and £7.6 million in fines for non-payment of tax which is a rise of 36% from 2018.
