Re_Attribution Offer For Prudential

Published / Last Updated on 24/10/2007

The Aviva policyholder advocate (independent overseer protecting policyholder interests), Clare Spottiswood, has indicated that she is hoping to assist Prudential avoid some of the issues that have slowed her progress regarding re-attribution of with funds to policholders at Norwich Union, part of Aviva Group.

This announcement comes after Ms Spottiswood confirmed delays in negotiations between herself and Aviva.  Ms Spottiswood confirmed her and Aviva will not be talking until the spring, although she is hoping to advise policyholders of the update soon.  Prudential’s nominated policyholder advocate, Peter Bloxham is said to have received advice from Ms Spottiswood, however Prudential believe that the two organisations are doing very different operations.

Our view

Jobs for the boys, or girls, we should say.  The reality is that funds should have been allocated correctly in the first place and not held in reserve.
