Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform BERR

According to a report from the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform  BERR, formerly the DTI, people struggling with debt have more assistance to tackle their problems than ever before.

The Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform’s BERR £47.5m face-to-face debt advice project has gone from strength to strength, with more than 66,000 people having been helped.  New specialist teams have received £3m and are on the hunt for loan sharks and illegal lending across the country.

Our view

Whilst it is a good thing to have ‘free’ help for people who get into financial difficulty, why is there no help for people who have not?
