Setting Up a Trust

Published / Last Updated on 14/06/2015

How do I set up a Trust?

Once you have decided on the most suitable policy and trust arrangement to use in your particular circumstances, all you need to do is complete any insurance application form and the trust deed form.

As well as the different types of trust wording such as absolute, flexible or discretionary, there are slight differences in wording for new and existing policies.

Existing policies:

Complete the trust document and send it to your financial adviser or insurance company advising that you wish to put your existing policy in trust.

New policies:

Complete your new life insurance application form and trust form and send them both to your financial adviser or insurance company.

Take advice:

We strongly recommend that you take advice from us or a solicitor to make sure the trust is right for you.

Trusts are complex and you should seek advice in your particular circumstances as to what is appropriate.
