Director National Insurance

As a director of a limited company you are an employee.You pay national insurance contributions on your salary and your company pays national insurance on your salary.However if you are paid with a dividend there is no national insurance contributions to be paid. But you have to find the balance because if HMRC believe you are not paying yourself enough in your salary and then you receive a big dividend you can be penalised.
