What could be worse than a death tax in that they even charge you for lifetime gifts and transfers?
The answer is a "live too long - survival" tax.
40% inheritance tax on death and 20% inheritance tax on lifetime chargeable transfers and up to 6% periodic charge every 10 years may appear insiginificant when you think that:

You still could be forced into selling 100% of assets to pay for your care later in life.
